Durango Interferometry Software typically provides phase shifting by controlling the analog voltage applied to a PZT phase shifter. Diffraction International phase shifters are low voltage devices that shift nominally 4.7 fringes at +10 V for 633 nm wavelength. This is the typical voltage range of digital-to-analog devices that can be installed in or connected to a desktop or laptop computer.
Many interferometers require a phase shift voltage in the range 100 V to 1000 V. This will require a voltage amplifier between the controller device and the phase shifter. Diffraction International phase shifters will require a voltage amplifier when used with interferometers operating at mid-IR or LWIR wavelengths.
Durango can control wavelength shifting interferometers, usually by means of an analog current. Diffraction International has also developed custom software modules that enable Durango to control a number of other phase shifting and wavelength shifting devices.
